KEY FORMULAS
Labels per running metre = labels across × 1000 ÷ pitch (label length + gap, mm)
Running metres = quantity ÷ labels per metre, + running waste % + make-ready metres
Material m² = running metres × web width (m)
Machine cost = (running time + make-ready time) × machine rate per hour
Price per 1,000 labels = (material + ink + machine + finishing) × (1 + margin) ÷ quantity × 1000
Plates and die = one-time cost, shown separately
WORKED EXAMPLE (illustrative Indian rates)
100 × 70 mm, 3 across, 3 mm gap, 330 mm web, 1,00,000 labels, 4-colour flexo, chromo paper ₹22/m², ink ₹1.50/m²
41.1 labels per metre · 2,433 m + 5% + 150 m make-ready = 2,705 m · 893 m²
Material ₹19,638 · Ink ₹1,339 · Machine 1.9 h × ₹2,500 = ₹4,754 · Finishing ₹1,000 · Total ₹26,731 + 15% margin = ₹30,741
