GPN is one app with eight modules: a flexible laminate cost calculator, a printed box cost calculator, a rotogravure printing cylinder cost calculator, a packaging label cost calculator, a woven sack & FIBC cost calculator, a laminated tube cost calculator, a searchable directory of packaging suppliers, and RFQ (Request For Quotation) sourcing. It runs in the browser and on Android. Each module has its own page on this site explaining how it works in detail. Account activation also unlocks the GPN Academy — in-app training courses for the packaging industry, including Packaging Foundations, Rotogravure Printing Cylinders, Flexible Packaging, Color Management for Packaging Prepress, AI Tools for Packaging Designers, Packaging Pouch Formats, Printed Cartons & Folding Boxes and Packaging Costing & Estimation.

Yes. Posting an inquiry is free and needs no payment: sign in with your Google account, fill in your company details, describe what you are looking for, and packaging suppliers whose listings match can reply to you in the app. You can hold up to three inquiries open at a time — close one and you can post another — and you read every reply and answer it at no charge. Your contact details are not shown on a free inquiry; the conversation stays inside GPN. What a free account cannot do is browse the supplier directory, see inquiries posted by other buyers, or reply to them — that is what account activation opens.

Sign in with your Google account at app.globalpackagingnetwork.com and pick your account type — Standard or Buyer. Posting an inquiry is free from that point on. A one-time ₹449 activation, paid securely in the app, unlocks the Packaging Directory permanently on any account type — search, compare, shortlist, unlimited inquiries, and the ability to see and answer inquiries from other buyers. The six cost calculators — Flexible Laminate, Printed Box, Rotogravure Cylinder, Packaging Label, Woven Sack & FIBC and Laminated Tube — are each a yearly subscription you can add once your account is activated, in separate seat pools, so early pricing on one does not affect the others.

Yes — there is a Buyer account type made for you, which you pick when you first sign in. With the directory unlocked, buyers search suppliers by capability, material and market, compare up to three side by side, keep a saved shortlist, and post an inquiry that suppliers respond to without your contact details being shown — sent either to every supplier whose listing matches, or only to your shortlist, or only to suppliers you name. Buyers also get SCM — your own supplier list with contacts from every approved listing, plus email or WhatsApp invitations to bring suppliers you already work with onto GPN; SCM comes with the activated directory. Before activating, a buyer account can still post inquiries free and read the replies. Buyers don't create cost models — admins and suppliers do — but with calculator access you can price a job against a published model to understand the cost basis.

No. Results are working estimates computed from the rate tables in the cost model you use. They support your commercial judgement — always confirm final pricing directly with the supplier.

Yes — when you reopen a saved quote it recomputes at the current rates, and the app clearly flags when rates have changed since the quote was saved.

Suppliers manage their own listings — capabilities, materials and markets — and GPN approves and verifies listings before they appear. Get in touch via the contact form to list your business.

So the directory is useful the day you join, it also includes packaging companies that are not yet GPN members, compiled from public trade sources. Those listings are marked Unclaimed and show no contact details. Open one and you can send an inquiry through GPN — we pass it on and invite the company to join and reply to you. Unclaimed listings appear below GPN members in the results and are not shown on the map. If your own company appears and you would rather it did not, use the Request removal link on the listing; you do not need an account, and we act on removal requests within 72 hours.

Listings marked SPONSORED appear first — those suppliers pay for that placement, and they are labelled SPONSORED everywhere they appear. Below them come GPN members — verified first, then the most recently added — and last, Unclaimed listings for companies not yet on GPN. A Featured star is separate: that is an editorial pick by GPN, not a paid slot. Paid placement affects position only — it is not an endorsement, and it never changes whether a listing is verified. Yes — Connect, which comes with the Packaging Directory at no extra cost. Write a template once, pick the suppliers or your own saved contacts, and Connect prepares each email filled in with that company's details and a signature built from your profile. GPN never sends it for you: the message opens in your own mail app, so it comes from your address and replies land in your inbox. It is capped on purpose — five emails a day to directory suppliers and twenty-five to your own contacts, with a fourteen-day gap before the same supplier can be emailed again — because the directory only stays worth searching if nobody can work it as a mailing list. Suppliers who have asked not to be contacted are never included.

Account activation is a one-time ₹449, which unlocks the Packaging Directory — and the GPN Academy with it — for good. The six cost calculators — Flexible Laminate, Printed Box, Rotogravure Cylinder, Packaging Label, Woven Sack & FIBC and Laminated Tube — are each a yearly subscription starting at ₹999 per year for early subscribers — the price rises in steps (₹999, then ₹2,199, then ₹4,399 per year) as seats are taken in that calculator's own seat pool. Prices are subject to change anytime. Payment is handled on Razorpay's secure checkout (UPI, cards, netbanking); we never see your card details.

The GPN Academy is in-app training for the packaging industry, included with the one-time ₹449 account activation at no extra charge — the same activation that unlocks the Packaging Directory. Eight complete ten-chapter courses are live: Packaging Foundations, an introduction for people entering or working in packaging, and six specialist courses —Rotogravure Printing Cylinders, on gravure cylinder construction, engraving, plating, quality control and buying; Flexible Packaging, on films, barrier, lamination, printing, converting, filling, testing and sustainability; Color Management for Packaging Prepress, on CIELAB, measurement, ICC profiles, spot color, proofing and press control; AI Tools for Packaging Designers, on using AI for ideation, artwork, 3D visuals, copy, and the rights and ethics around it; Packaging Pouch Formats, a drawing-led guide to pouch anatomy, gussets, closures, fitments, dimensions and specification; and Printed Cartons & Folding Boxes, on paperboard, dielines, carton constructions, printing, finishing, converting and costing — plus the advanced course Packaging Costing & Estimation, on the arithmetic behind a packaging price: material cost, wastage, machine hour rates, tooling, overheads, freight, rate cards and reading a quotation. Each chapter is a downloadable PDF followed by a short five-question self-check; score four out of five to pass. Your progress and best scores are saved to your account and follow you between phone and web, and more courses will be added over time.

Only if the supplier switches on Public profile for their listing. It's off by default — a supplier opts in from their listing editor and picks their own web address (app.globalpackagingnetwork.com/s/their-chosen-name). That page shows company details, location, products, images and certificate names to anyone, no account needed, and invites visitors to sign in to GPN to make contact. It never shows phone numbers, email addresses, contact person names, certificate files or listing stats.

Yes — the Global Packaging Community on WhatsApp is open to anyone in the packaging trade: converters, buyers, suppliers and machinery people. It is free, it is separate from GPN itself, and you do not need a GPN account to join. Use the Join on WhatsApp button in the Community section of this page, or scan the QR code beside it with your phone camera.
